India's largest independent Sushi chain - SUSHI AND MORE celebrates a decade of bringing Japanese food closer to India
It was back in 2007 when Harry Hakuei Kosato, fondly called ‘Harry San’, the founder of Sushi and More, embarked upon a journey to familiarize India with the culture and culinary delights of Japan. In 2011, he started India’s first and now the largest independently run Japanese food delivery and take-away business – Sushi and More which has made its mark across the country with seven outlets in bustling cities - Mumbai, Gurgaon and Delhi.
Over the past 10 years, Sushi and More has been consistent in providing healthy and delicious Japanese dishes. Their menu consists of both authentic & unique vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes that cater to the Indian palate. Not only are these dishes flavourful but are also healthy & beautifully presented.
And what’s “More”? Since its inception, Sushi and More has been passionate about providing knowledge about the Japanese culture. The team has been organizing sushi-cooking courses, competitions, food festivals and educating young chefs and so on. Aside from providing home delivery food services, Sushi and More has also collaborated with brands like Foodhall and The Quorum Club to make Japanese cuisine more accessible.
Sushi and More is the pioneer of “all-things sushi” in India and has undeniably contributed to the appreciation of the Japanese culture in India. The team dedicatedly strives to deliver new sushi preparations and develop innovative menus and at the same time is uncompromising in terms of their high-quality ingredients, rigorous sanitisation process and sustainable packaging.
Sushi and More has not been immune to difficulties inflicted on the hospitality industry because of the pandemic and the resultant lockdown. However, due to their persistent efforts in fighting against all odds, the team continues to serve their customers. For this purpose, they have partnered with apps, such as Thrive, Dunzo, Dotpe and Wefast for wider delivery options.
In the year 2020 while many Food and beverage ventures were forced to close their businesses due to the pandemic, the team at Sushi and More, under the guidance of Harry San pushed through and at the end of the year Sushi and More had served close 32,500 rolls of sushi i.e 2,60,000 pieces of sushi. Infact, the month of December 2020 was the highest sales since inception as they served more than 5000 rolls of Sushi!
