Nite Marathon & Cyclothon aimed to promote beauty & heritage of PinkCity at Night
Jaipur: After a spectacular gala evening at City Palace with Bollywood Singer Darshan Raval, the second event of 7th Edition of Jaipur by Nite, Nite Marathon (JBNM) was held over the weekend. The 4th edition of Jaipur by Nite Marathon was flagged off by Shri Vishnu Lata, Mayor, Jaipur City; Mr. D. B. Gupta, Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan; Mr. Kuldeep Ranka, Principal Secretary to Hon’ble Chief Minister, GoR; Ms Sreya Guha, Principal Secretary-Tourism, Government of Rajasthan; Mr. Anand Mishra, Chairman, CII Rajasthan; Dr. Bhanwar Lal, Director Tourism; Mr. Nitin Gupta, Director & Head, CII Rajasthan, Mr. AK Jain, MD, REIL; Mr. Vishal Baid, Vice Chairman CII Rajasthan; Mr. Apurv Kumar, Ms. Kiran Poddar, Mr. Nitesh Saboo, Mr. Anil Saboo and others at 9:30 PM from Hotel Clarks Amer, Jaipur on Saturday.
Jointly organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Ministry of Tourism, Government of India; Department of Tourism (DoT), Government of Rajasthan, and the Young Indians (Yi) along with the support of Rajasthan Khadi & Village Industries Board, RUDA and Indian Women Network (IWN); the marathon like it’s previous editions once again showcased the passion towards fitness and well-being mixed with the heritage culture.
The event embarked its journey with a LIVE music performance by the renowned music band "Swaraag" at 7:30 PM in evening followed by "Zumba" Workshop for the participants by Samar Singh of 8 Steps Studio. Along with this, Jaipur by Nite Cyclothon was also organized to promote Environment friendly communication and Green concept in Jaipur where more than 100 plus men, women and kids drove bicycles provided by CII. Both Jaipur by Nite Marathon and Cyclothon are dedicated in honour of 150th Anniversary of our beloved Father of the Nation - Mahatma Gandhi.
The nite marathon began from Hotel Clarks Amer and was divided in two categories - 10 kms run (with timing chip) and 5 kms run (without timing chip) taking the route from Hotel Clarks Amer to Rajasthan University (main gate) and back to Clarks Amer & Hotel Clarks Amer to OTS Chauraha and back to Hotel Clarks respectively. Participants from age group 8-91 years, more than 100 Army personnel, Police officers, CEOs, Corporate Leaders, Senior Level Management, Government Officials & enthusiastic runners from all across India also enjoyed the night marathon under moonlit sky to promote health & fitness as well as safe & secure Jaipur.
Keeping the safety of participants in mind, the organizers provided facilities like water counter, ambulance etc. all over the marathon route. A medical aid counter was also setup at Hotel Clarks Amer. More than 3000 participants including 1500 plus runners from over 12 states of India including Jaipur, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Ahemadabad, Karnal, Chennai and many other cities ran the marathon to witness and promote the beauty & heritage of Pink City at night.
Some of the prominent runners at 4th Edition of Jaipur By Nite Marathon were Mr. Ashwani Bhagat, IAS , Director General, HCM RIPA; Mr Vikas Kumar, IPS, DIG Jail, Government of Rajasthan; Mr. Sanjiv, IRS, Director General, State Directorate of Revenue Intelligence; Dr Bhanwar Lal, Director Tourism, Mr. Neeraj Naruka, Executive Director, Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation etc. Runners from major corporates like Hero Motocorp, Vodafone, Airtel, HPCL, Indian Railways etc. also ran to promote safety of tourists at night.
