7th Edition of Jaipur by Nite to be organised on 27th & 28th September in Jaipur
With the objective of promoting Rajasthan and Pink City (Jaipur) during the summer and monsoon months as a tourism, craft, fun, entertainment, heritage and shopping destination, the regular calendar event of Jaipur, Jaipur by Nite is back with its 7th Edition. The two days gala festival will be organized on 27th & 28th September 2019 in Pink City Jaipur. The 7th edition of Jaipur by Nite is jointly being organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII); Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India; Department of Tourism, Govt. of Rajasthan, Young Indians (Yi) and CII- Indian Women Network. Rural Non Farm Development Agency (RUDA) and Rajasthan Khadi & Village Industries Board are also supporting this initiative.
Addressing the press conference, Dr. Subodh Agarwal, Addl Chief Secretary, Industries, Government of Rajasthan said that Rajasthan has an infrastructure for tourism and even during the off-season, we do get tourists in the city of Jaipur and that Jaipur is the safest city as compared to other cities for tourism in India. With regards to the night tourism, he said, “We need to re-build the walled city of 17th century and the monuments of the city should also be opened at night to increase tourism in the state.” He further said that the walled city should be opened at night with the concept of night bazaar so that the tourists’ can further more enjoy the rich heritage of the city.
Addressing the house, Dr. Bhanwar Lal, Director- Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan said that Rajasthan is a popular tourist destination both in India and Abroad. With peak season starting in Rajasthan from September going till March end, Jaipur by Nite is the perfect opportunity to welcome tourists to witness the beauty of Jaipur at night and along with CII, Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan also understands the importance of promoting night tourism in the state. He also shared about the upcoming projects to promote night tourism in state.”
During the conference, Mr. Anand Mishra, Chairmnan, CII, Rajasthan shared that the majestic walls of City Palace on 27th September will witness LIVE performance of renowned Bollywood Singer Darshan Raval along with a performance by Kaafila Fusion Band, Nathulal Solanki - Maestro of Wonderful Instrument kettledrum (Nagada) and a special musical performance by Special Abled Kids on along with various Rajasthani troupe performances showcasing best of the state’s culture and folk music. This will be followed by Exclusive Gala Dinner with prominent dignitaries, diplomats, senior bureaucrats & industrialists across India in which senior corporate leaders from 9 states of Northern Region. He also shared that Hon’ble Minister for Tourism Shri Vishvendra Singh Ji and Hon’ble Minister for Energy, Water, Art & Culture Dr. B D Kalla have confirmed as Guests of Honour for the 7th Edition of Jaipur by Nite festival.
Mr. Nitin Gupta, Director & Head, CII Rajasthan shared that on 28th September the 4th edition of Jaipur by Nite Marathon will be held with a lively programme from 7.00 pm onwards. Begining from Hotel Clarks Amer, there will be two categories for Marathon – 10 kms run (with timing chip) and 5 kms (without timing chip) and the Flag off of marathon will be done at 9.30 pm. He further shared that the like last year, the participants are expected to join from various parts of the country to witness and promote beauty and heritage of Pink City in night. Prior to the marathon, there will musical performance by Swaraag Band and Zumba by Samar Singh. Participants from Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, Ludhiana and many other places are running in the marathon and more than 1500 runners have confirmed as of now and we are expecting 3000 participants to attend.
He also shared that there will be a second programme titled Jaipur by Nite Cyclothon which will promote Environment friendly communication and Green concept in Jaipur. He shared that this is the new edition wherein 100 plus men and women will be driving the bicycles to be provided by CII. Both Jaipur by Nite Marathon and Cyclothon are dedicated in honour of 150th Anniversary of our beloved Father of the Nation- Mahatma Gandhi.
