Amazon.in expands its delivery network in Rajasthan ahead of the festive season

Amazon.in today announced the expansion of its delivery network in the state of Rajasthan. In the last one year, Amazon.in has increased its last mile network by close to 1.5X in the state. With this expansion, Amazon.in now has close to 90 delivery stations and Service Partner nodes, and has partnered with more than 600 Kirana stores as part of its ‘I Have Space’ program in the State. This expansion will help Amazon further reach cities and towns like Jaisalmer, Barmer, Dungarpur, Banswara to name a few.

As part of the delivery network expansion, Amazon.in will launch Amazon Flex in Jaipur on 24 September and has begun delivery partner onboarding in the city. This innovative delivery program will offer an opportunity for individuals to be their own boss, create their own schedule and earn INR 120 to 140 per hour delivering packages on behalf of Amazon.

Commenting on the expansion of its delivery network, Mr. Prakash Rochlani, Director, Last Mile Transportation, Amazon India said, “We believe that customers, no matter where they reside or are located, value fast and reliable delivery. In line with our vision of making ecommerce a part of everyday life, we are expanding our delivery network in Rajasthan. This will enable us to better serve our customers this upcoming festive season. This expansion will help reach our customers in remote regions like Pratapgarh, Phalodi and Pali to name a few”.

Amazon Flex was first launched in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi in June 2019. Owing to the success and positive response, the program has scaled to seven cities in just a span of 3 months. The program will create thousands of part time opportunities for individuals to further their earning potential by delivering Amazon packages during their spare time. Interested delivery partners with two-wheelers can sign up, choose their own schedule, and deliver packages – all using the Amazon Flex app. Every delivery partner goes through a comprehensive background verification process and hands on training before they begin delivering packages. The Service Partner program enables Amazon to penetrate further into tier 3 and tier 4 locations in India with its own delivery services, thus enabling Amazon India to seamlessly manage last-mile deliveries across the country.  Amazon India’s Service Partner Network has a presence of nearly 1400 stations in close to 750 cities and towns across every state and union territory in the country.

Under the ‘I Have Space’ program, Amazon India partners with local store owners across different cities to deliver products to customers within a 2 – 4 kilometre radius of their store. Amazon.in has successfully unlocked the potential of such storeowners, allowing them to supplement their regular income and generate more footfalls in their stores. Amazon has store partners in over 350 cities, with more than 23,000 such Kirana outlets.
