City Startup to Represent Rajasthan at Global Competition
TiE Rajasthan, one of the most active chapter among 61 worldwide chapters of TiE, completed its regional pitch competition to select the university team to represent the state at the global finals of the TiE University Pitch Competition.
TiE Rajasthan’s efforts to identify and groom the next generation of entrepreneurs through TiE University Program have helped university startups nurture through booster mentoring and an opportunity to pitch their innovative ideas. Ujore Nature, a student startup from Banasthali Vidyapith, working on the idea of a special fish feed to combat disease outbreak in aquaculture and fishery industry has won the Regional Finale. This team will now compete with 30 teams from across the globe in the Global Pitch Competition to be held in May 2021.
Speaking about the program, Dr. Ravi Modani, President of TiE Rajasthan said, “The university entrepreneurial ecosystem is a key driving force of innovation that we see around us. TiE University is a platform to polish and present these ideas to a global community of mentors and investors. Over 500 teams are participating in this global competition from more than 100 universities and 50 cities. We are contented to provide this global platform to the local talent.”
“The Regional Program conducted by TiE Rajasthan received applications from 32 student teams from 8 universities. 16 seasoned entrepreneurs helped the shortlisted teams to further refine their ideas and prepare for the regional competition.” informed Sheenu Jhawar, Program Champion at TiE Rajasthan.
TiE University is poised to accelerate journey of next gen entrepreneurs by helping them launch and scale their ventures more rapidly with access to funding sources. The winners of TiE University Global Competition will get a cash prize of US$ 50,000 and in kind prizes worth US$ 1,00,000, added Arun Pareek, Executive Director, TiE Rajasthan.
