Siddharth Goenka (social worker) launches initiative to impart virtual education
Jaipur: Siddharth Goenka, Restaurateur and social entrepreneur/social worker has started an initiative to impart virtual education to students studying in government schools in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. He has tied up with 3 government schools currently and the virtual classes will be conducted at the school. He plans to increase this to 50 schools across Rajasthan in the upcoming months, This education will be provided by highly trained teachers from Bangalore which has become a hub for quality education in India.
Commenting on the initiative, Siddharth Goenka said “ We want rural and urban children to have similar opportunities. Equality is a concept which may never be achieved but equal opportunity is something we should strive for. Children living in Bangalore or rural India should have access to equal learning opportunities. Our aim is to bridge the learning gap between urban and rural children, we do not know where talent lies, hidden talent in rural areas has to be identified and nurtured”.
Initially classes will be conducted by about 5 teachers of Jnana Vijnana Vidyapeetha, a CBSE school in Padmanabhanagar in South Bangalore. They will cover subjects such as Mathematics, Literature and Science. The school currently has plans of imparting education to 300 students and this may increase in the next academic year.
