In its commitment towards clean India, Indore, Madhya Pradesh’s commercial capital has been in the forefront to lead the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The city has been setting benchmarks for its numerous initiatives in the handling of plastic waste and recycling, setting an exemplary example for others to follow. No wonder, the city of Indore continues to hold the title of ‘India’s Cleanest City’ consecutively for three years in a row. On ‘International Plastic Bag Free Day’, &TV artists from Madhya Pradesh speak on how a simple effort to curtail the use of single-use plastic can help in plastic waste management.

Kamna Pathak who plays the Dabangg Rajesh in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan hails from Indore. Congratulating all the Indorians for retaining their top slot of being the cleanest city in the country, Kamna says, Being an Indorian myself, I am immensely proud of what my town Indore has achieved in its effort on plastic waste management. Their determination has reaped visible results, transformed the city entirely and set a perfect example for others to follow. Kudos to everyone for their fantastic turnaround and efforts. Also, to all Indorians who have come forward and have consciously taken steps to curtail single-use plastic. Only through such collective efforts, a change can be made.”

Sarika Bahroliya who plays the role of Gudiya in &TV’s Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari says, “I am proud of the efforts of the Madhya Pradesh state in controlling the use of single-use plastic and its waste management. It is quite a big step and has set a good example for everyone. We all need to take collective measures to curtain usage of single-use plastics. There are plenty of alternatives available such as cloth and jute bags or even paper bags alongside biodegradable carry bags which are quite affordable. On International Plastic Bag Free Day, let us do our bit and become more environmentally responsible citizens.”
